How We Got Here

In 2005 while working at a retail fabric store in the home decor department, Kelly Wilson helped many customers who were seeking solutions for draperies, roman shades and fabric coverings. Based on Kelly’s talents, knowledge and popularity her management began scheduling classes for her to teach on the subject of window treatments. During the same time Kelly was a single-mother and found traditional retail work with strict schedules and minimum pay was becoming a less and less viable option as she juggled raising her children and working. As her list of customers grew it became clear that she had an opportunity to continue in this line of work and provide herself and her children the flexibility and support they would need. Excited by her plans, Kelly said goodbye to her old retail workmates and – voila! – Weave Gotcha Covered! was born.

Kelly’s personal experiences of being a single mother who at one time faced homelessness due to lack of living wages is part of the reason we have the values we do. Our belief that businesses have the responsibility to help solve community challenges was born out of these experiences and for this reason we are a social entrepreneurship that seeks to develop the community around us.

Helping women and encouraging growth in them that positively impacts their role in the community as a whole is what drives us. We passionately provide jobs and mentoring to marginalized communities by intertwining them with professional women. We are committed to employing and training women constrained by generational poverty, addiction, incarceration and more as they work to reclaim their lives through economic sustainability. One way we at WGC! fulfill this commitment is by providing economic opportunities to mothers in need through a partnership with 100 Jobs for 100 Moms through Amethyst Place.

We are always being pushed by the desire to help more women, to move them up out of a place of hopelessness where society generally says they have little value and show them how valuable they are. We believe that the more we can grown our own business, the more women we can impact and the more we can change the community around us.

What We Do

Weave Gotcha Covered! manufactures custom window treatments, soft furnishings, and upholstery. Our design staff harmonizes style, expertise, and quality products to provide a seamless experience that ensures customer satisfaction every time. After 15 years of being a well kept secret in Kansas City – working only by referral, our secret is out. Our work can be seen on HGTV’s Bargain Mansions, in local boutique shops and home after beautiful home around town.

Unlike other window treatment and soft furnishing providers, we’re not limited by alliance to particular brand names. We know just where to find the right fabric and the perfect hardware. If there isn’t a product on the market that meets your particular home’s design, you know what? We’ll create it. We’re that dedicated to you.
